Meet the Rest of the Boyer & Corporon Team
Brian Hackleman, Chief Compliance Officer
With over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, Brian Hackleman’s primary responsibility is to ensure that our systems, processes and data are all kept compliant with the rules and regulations of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). As the one who handles all security transactions for BCWM, Brian shoulders the responsibility for limiting account transaction errors. A member of the KC Compliance Group, Brian also meets regularly with other professionals to stay current on compliance topics and review SEC procedures. Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas and resides in Lenexa, Kansas with his wife and two sons.
Christopher E. Harrington, CFA, CPA
Chris joined BCWM in 2010 as our Portfolio Manager. Working closely with Rich Boyer, he provides analysis on a wide variety of securities and assists with portfolio allocation and investment recommendations. He will also assist with developing and maintaining our global investment strategy. In 2005 Chris earned his designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst and also achieved the title of a Certified Public Accountant in 2008. Prior to joining BCWM, he served as Financial Analysis Manager for the Capital Markets Group of CenturyLink. He also spent four years as an equity trader with E-Trade Professional in New York, NY. A graduate of Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, Chris earned both his Master of Science in Accounting in December 2007 and his MBA at UMKC in May 2008. He is a member of the CFA Institute, Kansas City Chapter and Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society for business students. Chris played on the National Champion Princeton men’s lacrosse team from 1998 to 2001 and now volunteers as an assistant coach with a local high school lacrosse team. He and his wife reside in Overland Park, Kansas.
Jay Beebe, Financial Planner, CFP®
Jay’s responsibilities include lending his Certified Financial Planner experience to assist in client reviews, taking the lead on tax projects, acting as technical specialist for the office, managing relationships, and regularly meeting with clients. With over four years experience in the industry, Jay earned his Certified Financial Planning designation in May, 2008 and previously earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance, with a minor accounting, from Oklahoma State University. While at Oklahoma State, Jay participated in a University-sponsored state leadership program, served on the advisory council to the state Board of Regents, and authored a corporate tax incentive bill. Currently enrolled at the UMKC Bloch School of Business, Jay is pursuing his Master of Science in Accounting, and he frequently attends Financial Planning Association events hosted by the Kansas City chapter. He remains active in the community as an Overland Park South Rotarian and a committee member with Johnson County Ducks Unlimited. Jay and his wife reside in Lenexa, Kansas.
Laura Boyer, Para-Planner
Laura, a 2007 graduate of Marquette University, joined Boyer & Corporon to learn financial planning, with an emphasis on client relationship management. At Marquette, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing, as well as served as goalkeeper for the university’s women’s soccer team. She currently attends the Bloch School of Business at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and is a candidate for the Certified Financial Planning Certificate. A scholar and athlete, Laura was the recipient of the Marquette FEI (Financial Executives Institute) award, and was named the 62nd recipient of the Marquette University McCahill Award, which is given each year to a student-athlete who has graduated and demonstrated the highest performance in scholarship, leadership and athletics.
Pat Burns, Client Service Specialist, Family Office Division
Pat, with over 17 years and a wide range of industry experience, assists clients with requests such as bill-pay services and coordination of wealth management reviews. Working closely with Mindy to support BCWM’s services to client families, Pat focuses on client communication, striving to ensure superior customer service. She previously served as an Operations Manager for UBS PaineWebber, where she was engaged in compliance and branch operations oversight. Pat resides in Overland Park, Kansas with her husband and two children.
Kim Brown, Client Service Administrator
A graduate of Kansas State University, Kim Brown serves as a Client Service Administrator with Boyer & Corporon. With over 15 years of experience in administrative and business management, Kim ensures the completeness of our clients’ administrative processes and procedures. Serving as the firm’s liaison with Schwab Institutional, its current custodian for investment accounts, Kim administrates daily security transfers, wires, checks and title changes. It is due to her efficiency that Schwab gave BCWM the highest possible score for technology efficiency. Kim and her husband
reside in Overland Park, Kansas with their two children.
Emily Sims, Receptionist
Emily Sims is our ‘director of first impressions.’ The first voice you hear when you call and the smiling face that greets you in our offices, Emily is responsible for a multitude of administrative functions and direct interaction with clients. Emily is active in the Overland Park Chamber Young Professionals group. She and her husband reside in Olathe, Kansas.
