Community Foundation of Johnson County Appoints Mindy Corporon to Board of DirectorsOVERLAND PARK, KS (August, 2009) Boyer & Corporon Wealth Management Chief Executive Officer Mindy Corporon has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Johnson County. The Foundation’s mission is to improve the community’s quality of life by increasing charitable giving, connecting donors to needs they care about and providing leadership on critical community issues. Corporon, who is a managing member and founder of Overland Park-based Boyer & Corporon Wealth Management, brings years of financial and community volunteer experience to this new role. “I am honored to fill this role for the Foundation,” said Corporon. “The Community Foundation is a cornerstone of philanthropic giving in Johnson County and I look forward to making a significant contribution to their mission.” A former Vice President of Investments at PaineWebber (now UBS) and at H&R Block Financial Advisors, Corporon was named by On Wall Street as one of the top Financial Advisors under the age of 40 in 2006. In 2007, she co-founded Boyer & Corporon Wealth Management, a firm specializing in comprehensive wealth management for high net-worth families. Among her professional duties at Boyer & Corporon Wealth Management is educating and advising multi-generational families on philanthropic giving. Corporon lives in Stilwell, Kan. with her husband and two children, and is an active supporter of Operation Breakthrough, a local charity helping children who are living in poverty develop to their fullest potential. The Community Foundation of Johnson County recently established “Johnson County Cares,” an emergency assistance fund for individuals needing assistance with basic necessities. The foundation also supports a variety of nonprofit agencies throughout Johnson County, as well as promoting knowledge of philanthropic opportunities for donors.
