Kim Brown visited Schwab Institutional for a private operations tour to gain a better understanding of their critical client support functions. The customized tour - which also covered best practice and troubleshooting - included visits to the following advisor service departments:  

1. Document Control: Demonstration of Schwab’s ‘scandexing’ function and how advisor requests are handled
2. Equity/ Fixed Income Trading: Brief overview of team function and key personnel
3. Cashiering: Brief overview of team function and how check/ wire transfers are processed 
4. Management Fees: Management fee overview and discussion on how data is calculated for client accounts
5. Cost Basis: Overview of cost basis team and associated support functions
6. Technical Client Services: Overview of Schwab Institutional’s website incl. the newly-released Schwab Alliance which allows clients to view their accounts
7. Transfers/ New Accounts: An in-depth discussion on the account transfer/ account opening processes incl. charitable gifting and other dedicated client service resources

The Schwab sessions were very helpful and will allow our firm to continue to enhance client service as we strive to develop a more efficient and scalable family wealth practice.
